Kingston Community Furniture is part of Staywell, the working name for Age Concern Kingston upon Thames. Your privacy is important to us and this policy document outlines how Staywell collects, stores and uses your personal information. You can rest assured that Staywell will do its utmost to protect any information that we hold on you. Please be aware that some aspects of our privacy notice may change over time
How we use and store personal information
We will use the information given to us by clients, staff volunteers and others who contact us to:
provide clients with a service they have agreed to receive,
ensure clients’ safety while receiving services from us, and the safety of our staff and volunteers,
record the work we do,
manage our staff and volunteers, and/or
process any donations or payments made to Staywell.
Personal information will kept securely at all times and treated with care and sensitivity.
Sharing personal information
We will never sell or rent your information to third parties.
Where appropriate, we may share personal information with other services supporting a client, such as the Adult Social Care services or the client’s GP. This will always be done securely. We will only share information absolutely required to support the client and we will notify the client beforehand wherever possible.
Any reports we produce on the work we do will be anonymous, personal data will not be shared unless you agree to its specific use.
From time to time our work is monitored by approved external bodies such as AQS (Advice Quality Standard). They may have temporary access to your information during audits to ensure we are adhering to the appropriate standards, and will be bound by data protection agreements.
In strictly controlled areas we may use third parties to process information on our behalf, such as to issue invoices to paying clients or pay our staff. However, we will only disclose the necessary information, always in a secure way, and always bound by data protection agreements.
You have the right to withdraw consent for Staywell to hold your data at any time, to ask for a copy of your data or to ask to be ‘forgotten’ in which case any personal data we have about you will be permanently destroyed, unless we have a duty by statutory obligation or by law to retain it (such as collecting Gift Aid or adhering to HR law).
